Neelkanth

The shop is called Neelkanth and we are situated right at B 4 B in the Bapu Bazar and Indra Bazar area. It is a very busy spot in the city where two major markets meet. My family has been running this shop for a couple of generations now. We don't have a big corporate structure. It is just me, my father, and one helper. We sell a variety of things, mostly items people use in their homes or for traditional purposes. The shop itself is quite old. The wooden shelves have been there since before I was born. We haven't changed much over the years because the old way works fine. We don't have a computer to track things; we use a simple ledger and a pen. It gets very crowded outside in the bazaar, especially during festival seasons. People are always pushing past, and the noise of the market is something you just get used to. We don't do any promotional stuff or advertisements. People know us because we have been here at this exact spot for so long. Sometimes people come in just to say hello or ask for the time. We don't mind. The shop is small and can feel a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock, but that is just the way these old market shops are. We keep things simple and try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door at B 4 B.
