Neelam Hair Dresser & Beauty Parlour

We are located in Ananda Nagar, which is out in Shahpura, right on the Neem Ka Thana Road. It’s a good spot because a lot of people pass by on their way to other towns. We handle both hair cutting and beauty work, so the shop stays fairly busy throughout the day. The place has a mix of smells, like shampoo and hair cream and sometimes incense from the small shrine we keep in the corner. It’s not a very modern setup. We have the basic tools and some older chairs that we’ve had since we started. Shahpura is a place where word of mouth matters more than any sign outside. Most of our customers come because their cousin or neighbor told them about us. I spend a lot of time on my feet, and by the afternoon, the floor is usually a mess of hair that needs sweeping. The sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the morning, so we have a curtain to keep the glare out. It’s a simple business. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just show up, wait their turn, and talk about what's happening in Jaipur or the local villages. We try to be helpful and do a decent job so people come back next month. That’s really all there is to it. Just a local parlour on the road for the community.
