We are based at D-65 in the Satyavihar area of Lalkothi. It is a quiet enough spot for an institute, which helps when people are trying to focus on their studies and keep their heads down. Navkar Institute has been around for a while now, and we mostly spend our time preparing materials for the classes we hold throughout the week. The building is a regular house that we've converted into a few classrooms with basic desks and chairs for the students. We don't have any big signs or bright lights outside to grab attention. People usually find us because their friends or cousins came here before and told them about it. Most of our daily work involves sitting down with students and going over notes or helping them prepare for their entrance tests. I personally spend a lot of time making sure we have enough copies of the old exam papers for everyone to practice with. It is not a corporate school with hundreds of employees; it is just a few of us who know our subjects well and want to pass that knowledge on. We drink a lot of tea between sessions and talk to the students about their plans for the future or which college they want to join. Some days are quieter than others, especially when there are no exams coming up, but we stay open regardless to help anyone who drops by. It feels like a small community here in Satyavihar. We just focus on the teaching and let the results speak for themselves when the students eventually get their grades back.
