My Choice

Our place, My Choice, is up on the first floor of Crystal Court. It's unit 137. Being in Malviya Nagar means it's usually quite busy around here. We've been in this same spot for a while now. Some days the lift works fine and other days people just take the stairs to get up to us. We open up the shop around ten in the morning. The first thing we usually do is dust off the counters because the mall can get a bit dusty overnight. It's a regular routine for us. We spend most of the day just sitting behind the counter or reorganizing the items on the shelves. There’s a tea stall not too far away that we get our morning chai from. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations or anything. Just the stuff we sell and a couple of chairs for us to sit on. The lighting in Crystal Court is okay, but we have our own lamps inside to see things better. Malviya Nagar has changed quite a bit since we first moved in. There are more shops now and the traffic outside is louder. We usually close up when the mall starts to quiet down in the evening. It’s just a normal way to earn a living. We don’t think about it too much. We’re just here at 137 every day except for our days off.
