Muskaan Gents Parlour

We’ve got a small shop over in Sodala at Shop No A-9 in Shivpuri Colony. It’s right across from the KS Ford showroom, so that’s the easiest way to find us if you’re coming from the main road. Being a gents' parlour, we keep things very simple. We have the old-style chairs that lean back for a shave and a few mirrors on the wall. It’s a local spot where the men from Shivpuri Colony come to get a haircut or a clean shave before work. We have a small television in the corner that’s usually on a news channel or a cricket match if one is playing. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s a working shop. We spend most of the day talking about the neighborhood and what’s happening in Jaipur. Sodala is a crowded area, so there’s always the sound of horns and traffic outside our door. We keep our razors sharp and our towels hot. There’s no fancy reception desk here, just a bench for people to sit on while they wait their turn. We’ve been at this address for a long time and the regulars are like friends now. We know how they like their hair cut without them even asking. It’s a basic, honest business and we like it that way. No need for anything more than a good pair of scissors and some decent conversation. We stay open late for those coming from work.
