M.R. Handicrafts

We are located on Vinobha Marg in the C-Scheme area. The business is run by the family, and you’ll usually find Rajendra Kumar or Prem Chand Jain around the place. C-Scheme is a nice part of town, and our spot here at M.R. Handicrafts is filled to the ceiling with all sorts of things. We’ve got crafts from all over, and they’re mostly just stacked up on shelves or in the corners. It’s not a fancy boutique where everything has its own spotlight. It’s more of a place where you have to look around to find what you want. We spend a lot of time talking to the artisans and getting new pieces in. The office is just a desk in the back where we keep the books. We don't have a big staff, just us and a few helpers. It can get a bit cluttered, especially when a new shipment arrives and we haven't found a place for everything yet. People walk in from the street because they’re curious about what’s inside. We aren't really into big marketing or slick presentations. We just like the things we sell and enjoy being in this neighborhood. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually when we take our only real break. It’s a simple way to run a business, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. Nothing much changes around here, and we like it that way, just keeping things steady.
