Monica Arts Handicrafts

We are located at A-74 Ram Marg in the Shyam Nagar area. The shop sits right on the stretch of Ram Marg near the corner. Monica Arts Handicrafts is a small, quiet place where we keep a collection of local art and various handmade goods. It is definitely not a big showroom with shiny floors and bright lights. We much prefer the natural light that comes through the front door during the day. Shyam Nagar is a nice neighborhood to be in, and being on Ram Marg makes it very easy for the locals to find us. I started this shop because I have always had a liking for things that are made by a person rather than a machine. There is a lot of character in a piece of carved wood or a bit of fabric that someone spent hours working on. The walls inside are covered in different things we have found over the months. Sometimes the shop feels a bit crowded, but that is just what happens when you have so many different pieces. We don’t really follow a very strict schedule; if we are here working, then the door is open for anyone. People usually come in just to look around and we end up chatting for a while. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. We don’t try to push sales on anyone. My family helps out with everything. We’ve been at A-74 for a long time.
