Modi Emporium

Modi Emporium is located at No. 29 Gopal Ji Ka Rasta. If you know the area, you know it’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We’ve been here long enough that we don't even think about the turns anymore. The shop isn’t huge, but we make use of every inch of floor space we have. There are piles of things everywhere, and that’s just how we like to operate. It’s easier to find things when they’re right in front of you. We open up the shutters every morning and start the day by sweeping the front step. Gopal Ji Ka Rasta gets quite a bit of foot traffic, especially in the afternoons. Most of our regulars have been coming to us for years. They know our names and we know theirs. We don't spend money on shiny advertisements or big posters. Word of mouth works just fine for us. It’s mostly just sitting here, helping whoever walks through the door, and making sure the inventory is counted correctly. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things higher than they probably should be. It’s a simple life running a shop like this. We don’t have a big corporate office or a team of managers. It’s just us at No. 29, doing the same thing we’ve done since the beginning. We usually have a cup of tea around four o’clock when the sun starts to dip behind the buildings. It's just part of the rhythm of being here at Modi Emporium.
