Mishra Sales

If you find yourself near Dadi Ka Phatak on Benar Road, you will probably see our place. We are at number 53 in Shiv Nagar. Being right opposite the railway crossing means we hear the trains going by all the time. It is a sound you just stop noticing after the first week of working here. Mishra Sales is a small operation, really. We have a shop front that opens right onto the street, so there is always dust coming in from the road. We spend a lot of time sweeping and then five minutes later it looks the same again. Benar Road is always full of motorcycles and people going about their business. We handle a bit of everything when it comes to sales, and our shelves are usually packed to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we have more than two people in the shop. We don't have any fancy signs or big advertisements. Most people know us just because they live nearby or pass by every day on their way to work. We like the neighborhood vibe of Shiv Nagar. It feels like everyone knows everyone else’s business. We just stay focused on what we need to sell and making sure we keep enough stock for the next day. It’s a regular job in a regular part of Jaipur. Nothing more and nothing less.
