Our shop is tucked away in Chandpole Bazar, specifically at Shop No. 840 on Rasta Bagroo Walon Ka. If you know the first crossing, you can find us pretty easily. It’s a very old part of the city, and the lanes can be quite narrow and full of life. Maruti Handicrafts is where we spend most of our waking hours. We have all sorts of things packed into the shelves, from small decorative items to larger pieces. The walls are mostly covered in whatever we’re working on or selling at the moment. It’s dusty work sometimes, being in an open market like this, but we don’t mind. You can hear the sounds of the bazaar all day long—rickshaws, people bartering, and the general hum of the crowd. We usually have a small tea break in the afternoon when things slow down just a bit. This shop has seen many seasons. We know most of the neighbors, and we see the same faces passing by every day. It’s not a fancy showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s a practical workspace where we deal with handicrafts and talk to customers. Sometimes we’re so busy we don’t even notice the time passing. Being in Chandpole Bazar means being part of the history of this place, and we’re happy to have our small corner here. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day after day, and that’s enough for us.
