Manish Salon

Manish Salon is situated in Kanta Colony, tucked behind the NBC Company near the Ajmer Road side of Jaipur. We are very close to the Hanuman Temple, so on Tuesdays, you can hear the bells and the prayers quite clearly from inside the shop. It is a quiet colony for the most part, away from the main road's chaos. I usually open the shop after finishing my own morning prayers. The interior is quite plain with white walls and a few shelves for the hair oils and creams we use. I have three chairs set up, but usually, it is just me and one other fellow working. We get many of the workers from the NBC Company who stop by after their shifts are over. They are usually tired and just want a quick shave or a head massage to relax. I keep a small television in the corner, usually tuned to the news or a cricket match if one is on. The neighborhood kids also come by, and I have to be careful with them because they can never sit still in the chair. It is a neighborhood shop where everyone knows everyone else. We don't have a fancy sign or big lights, just a small board outside so people know we are open for business.
