We have been operating out of these 13-14 FCI Godown spaces for quite some time now. If you know the Durgapura Station Road, you've probably seen us near the spot opposite the old Dalda factory. It’s a busy part of Durgapura, with trucks coming and going all the time because of the station nearby. My father started Manglam Arts as a way to keep busy with the local craft work. We don't have a fancy showroom with glass windows and air conditioning. It’s mostly just us working in the warehouse space, surrounded by dust and the smell of raw materials. Some days the noise from the road gets a bit loud, but you get used to it after a few years. People sometimes get lost trying to find us since the godown entrance looks like all the others. Usually, I just tell them to look for the Dalda factory gate and look across the street. We handle most of the packing and shipping ourselves right here on the floor. It isn't always organized perfectly, but we know where everything is kept. If someone walks in, they’ll likely find me or one of the boys sitting on a crate having tea. We just focus on getting the pieces ready and sent out to whoever ordered them. It's a simple life here in the Durgapura area, just doing the work that needs doing every day.
