We run this little shop out of Kalra House, which is at 2/146 in Malviya Nagar. It’s a residential-feeling area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets. We have shelves packed with all sorts of things people have made by hand. It’s not a big showroom with bright lights. Most of the time, the space feels a bit crowded because we keep getting new items in and don't always have a place to put them. There’s a bit of dust on the higher shelves, and the floorboards might creak a little when you walk around. We aren't professional decorators. We just put things where they fit. You might find a carved wooden bowl next to a pile of embroidered cloths. It’s a bit of a treasure hunt for anyone who comes in. We spend our days unpacking boxes, wrapping items in newspaper for customers, and talking to the artisans who bring their work to us. It’s a slow-paced kind of life. We don't have a computerized inventory system that works all the time; we mostly rely on our notebooks and memory. The neighborhood kids sometimes peek through the window, and the postman always stops for a minute to chat. It’s a humble place. We don't try to make it look like a high-end boutique. It’s just a house filled with crafts, and we are the ones who look after it.
