Malak Beauty Parlour

This parlour is located at 230/38 in the Sanganer area of Jaipur, specifically in Pratap Nagar. It’s a busy part of town, but our shop is a bit more grounded. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. It's just a regular place where women come to get their hair done or maybe some henna for a festival. We have a couple of chairs that have seen better days, but they are comfortable enough. The air smells like hairspray and talcum powder most of the time. We work long hours, especially when there's a holiday coming up. Sanganer is known for its prints, but here in Pratap Nagar, we just focus on making sure people leave looking a bit tidier than when they walked in. We use local brands and things we trust. There's a small fan on the wall that makes a clicking noise, but we’re used to it. We don't have a fancy website with photos. If you want to see our work, you just look at the neighbors. We do a lot of bridal makeup when the time comes, and the whole shop gets filled with flowers and jewelry. It’s just us doing what we know. No big corporate rules here. We just open the shutters and start working. Sometimes we have to move the chairs around to make space for the brides' families. It's a small place but we make it work for everyone who visits.
