Majisa Crafts & Arts

You can find Majisa Crafts & Arts over at E-24 in Govindpuri, which is part of the Ram Nagar area in Sodala. It’s a bit of a residential neighborhood but there are plenty of small businesses like ours tucked into the side streets. We work with a lot of different materials here, so there’s always something being cut or glued or painted. The workspace isn't exactly a showroom. It’s a bit messy with scraps of wood and fabric everywhere, but that’s how we know we’re actually getting things done. We started out small and we’ve stayed about the same size over the years. We don't have a fancy mission statement or a board of directors. It’s just a few of us who know how to make things with our hands. Sodala is a busy place, and getting through the traffic to get here can be a real pain sometimes, but once you’re inside the shop, it’s actually pretty calm. We have a few old chairs for visitors and a big wooden table where most of the work happens. Sometimes the neighborhood kids stop by to see what we are making. We don't do much in the way of selling ourselves or printing fancy ads. If people like what we make, they usually come back or tell their friends about us. That’s how we’ve kept going for so long. It’s just honest work in a busy neighborhood.
