Madanlal Hair Dresser

Our small shop is situated out in Rajpura, right near the N H 8 in Shahpura. Being so close to the highway means we get a lot of dust, so I’m always wiping down the chairs and the glass. It is a humble place, honestly. I started Madanlal Hair Dresser because I wanted to work for myself and stay close to home in Jaipur. Most days, it is just me here. I open up early because the truck drivers and people traveling the highway often stop by before the heat gets too bad. It is a lot of work keeping things tidy. I have two old chairs that have seen a lot of years, but they are comfortable enough. People from the village come in and sit for a chat even if they don't need a trim that day. We use simple tools, nothing electric that’s too fancy. Just razors and combs. Sometimes the noise from the highway is a bit much, but you get used to it after a while. I like the life here. It’s not a big city parlor with air conditioning. It’s just a place where you can get a shave and a haircut without any fuss. The address is easy to find if you are passing through Shahpura. We are right there on the main stretch. I plan to stay here as long as my hands stay steady enough to work the shears and keep the shop running.
