Lucky Hair Art

My shop is number 172 in the Suraj Pole Bazar area. It is right near the Surajpole Gate, which is a very old and busy part of Jaipur. The walls here are thick and the building is older than I am, but it stays standing. I’ve been cutting hair at Lucky Hair Art for a long time now. The bazar is always full of smells from the food stalls and the constant sound of bells and horns. Inside, I keep things simple. I have my old barber chair that is still more comfortable than the new ones you see in the fancy malls. I have a small sink in the corner and a shelf for the creams and oils I use every day. Most of my customers are people who work in the bazar or live in the nearby lanes of Galta. They come in and we talk about the local trade or how the city is changing with the new roads. I don’t use any computer for bookings or anything like that, people just walk in and wait their turn on the bench. If the bench is full, they know to come back in half an hour. The lighting isn't great, but I have a big bulb right over the main chair. In the summer, the fan struggles to keep the heat out, but nobody seems to mind. It’s just a regular local shop where you can get your hair done without any fuss or high prices.
