Lengha Emporium

You have to climb up to the second floor of Agrasen Market in Johari Bazar to find Lengha Emporium. We are at shop number 29. Being in Johari Bazar means it’s always crowded and loud outside on the street, but once you get up to our floor, it’s a little bit more manageable to breathe. We have stacks of lenghas in every color you can think of. It’s a lot of heavy lifting because those skirts with all the embroidery and beads are surprisingly heavy when you move ten of them at once. We spend our days unfolding fabric for people to look at and then folding it all back up again. It’s a never-ending cycle that keeps our arms tired. Sometimes the lighting in the market isn't the best, so we encourage people to take the cloth near the window to see the real color in the sunlight. We don't have a big fancy boutique with mirrors everywhere; it’s more of a traditional market setup with simple stools. We've been in this same spot for quite a bit, and we know most of the other shopkeepers in Agrasen Market. If you're looking for something for a wedding, this is the area everyone comes to eventually. We just try to help folks find something they like without being too pushy about it. Sometimes we have a bit of a mess on the floor with all the sequins that fall off, but we sweep it up.
