Laxmi Agency is located in Chandpole Bazar, specifically on the way to Bordi Kuwa Ka Rasta at Nahargarh Road 229. This is the heart of the old city, and the lanes here are very narrow and crowded. You can’t even bring a car down some of these streets. Our agency has been here for a long time, and the building itself is quite old with thick walls and high ceilings. We do a lot of wholesale work, so there are always stacks of boxes everywhere. Sometimes you have to climb over a crate just to get to the back of the room. It’s a bit of a maze inside. The air smells like old paper and the spices from the nearby market shops. We spend the day taking orders and loading up rickshaws that take our goods to different parts of the city. It is physical work and we are usually pretty tired by the time we close the wooden doors at night. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it's on high speed, but it keeps the air moving. We don't have a fancy office or a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever is standing near the ledger. It’s a traditional way of working that hasn’t changed much in decades. We like being in Chandpole because it feels like the real soul of the city is right here.
