Lalit Hair Drasser

My shop is located in Gram-Pragpura, which is part of Kotputli in the Jaipur district. It’s a rural area, so life moves a bit slower here than it does in the main city. I started Lalit Hair Drasser because there weren't many places nearby for a proper shave. The building is just a small concrete room, but I’ve painted the inside to make it look a bit brighter. I don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just my scissors, a straight razor, and a few different types of combs. Most of my customers are people from the village who I’ve known my whole life. We talk about the weather, the local politics, and how the kids are doing in school. It’s a friendly atmosphere. Sometimes, if I’m busy with a customer, the others will just wait outside under the tree and chat amongst themselves. I usually open up around eight in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. During the harvest season, things get a bit quieter because everyone is out in the fields. I don't mind the quiet days; it gives me time to sharpen my tools and clean up the shop. I’ve lived in Pragpura all my life and I don't plan on leaving. This shop is how I support my family, and I take pride in doing a steady job for my neighbors. It’s a simple life but it is a good one.
