I run Kunj Hair Art over on Putli Road in Kotputli. It’s a straight shot from the main part of town, so it's easy for people to get to without much trouble. Kotputli is a place where people appreciate things being done the old way, with patience and care. My shop isn't big, it’s just a room with enough space for me to work and a few people to sit and wait. I have a couple of mirrors that have seen better days and have some scratches, and the floor is a bit worn from all the walking I do around the chair. I’ve been doing this since I was a young man and first moved here. I learned from watching others and then just doing it myself until I got it right. I don't have a big sign or anything, just the name on the front above the door. People know me around here, so I don't need much else to get customers. The road outside can get dusty when the wind picks up, so I spend a lot of time dusting off my counters and the glass jars. I mostly do simple cuts. Nothing too modern, just what looks good on a working man or a student. Sometimes someone asks for something different they saw in a magazine or on the television, and I do my best to match it for them. We talk about the local news and the families in the area while I work.
