Down here in Village Ninder, things move a bit slower than in the main city. Our workshop is located in Dhani-Bhopakala Ki, which is just off the road if you are coming via V.K.I.A. We have been making these handicrafts for quite a few years now. It is mostly a small group of us sitting together and working on the pieces. There is always the smell of wood and glue in the air. We don't use big automated machines or anything like that because we prefer doing things by hand. Sometimes our fingers get sore or the tools need sharpening, but that is just part of the job. Our space isn't very tidy because we have materials scattered everywhere, from scrap bits to half-finished items waiting for a final touch. Visitors sometimes get a bit lost finding us since we are tucked away, but we don't mind the quiet. We aren't trying to be a huge factory. We just want to make stuff that looks decent and lasts. On rainy days, we have to move everything inside quickly so nothing gets ruined. It is a simple life and we get to see the things we make go out to different places. If you drop by, you might see us drinking tea and discussing how to fix a mistake on a new project. That is how we learn and keep going. It is not a fast process, but we think it's better this way. There is something about working with your hands that machines just can't match.
