Koolwal Handicrafts

If you head over to 180 Khatipura in Pratap Nagar, you’ll find us working away at Koolwal Handicrafts. We are located right on Vashisth Marg, which is a fairly easy place to find once you’re in the neighborhood. The workshop is always full of materials, whether it’s wood, fabric, or metal parts. There’s a constant sound of hammering or sawing coming from the back rooms where the items are put together. We don't have a fancy front office; it’s mostly just a space where we can store the finished items before they go out to customers. Dust is a part of life here, and we all have it on our clothes by the end of the shift. We’ve been in Pratap Nagar for a good while, and we like the vibe of the area. Most of the people working here live close by, so it feels like a neighborhood project. We spend time checking the details on every piece, looking for any cracks or loose bits that need fixing. It’s physical work and your hands get dirty, but that’s how handicrafts are made. Vashisth Marg can get a bit crowded with delivery trucks, but we manage to get things loaded and unloaded eventually. We don't have any big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us making things and hoping people find them useful. Sometimes we sit out front on a bench during our break and just watch the traffic go by on the road.
