Khandelwal Jaipur

We are up on the 1st floor at No. 669 in Kishanpole Bazar. Being in the heart of Jaipur means there is always a lot of color and noise right outside our windows. From where we sit, we can hear the rickshaws and the people bartering down on the street. Our space is mostly just a large room where we keep our goods and handle the daily business. We’ve got some old wooden tables where we lay things out to inspect them. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, especially when we are carrying heavy bundles, but the view of the market is worth it. At Khandelwal Jaipur, we don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The walls have some old shelves that have seen better days, and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on high. We spend a lot of time talking to vendors and making sure our orders are coming in on time. The air in the bazaar can get pretty dusty, so we try to keep the windows closed in the heat of the afternoon. It’s a simple setup and we don't go in for anything too modern. We just like being in the middle of Kishanpole and doing our work the same way we always have. It’s a steady life and we know most of the neighbors.
