Kirti Creations India is out at Plot No. 40, Polo First, in the Paota section of Sitapura Industrial Area. Working in an industrial zone means there is always dust in the air and the sound of machines coming from the other plots nearby. Our building is a plain concrete block with a large metal gate that squeaks whenever you open it. We spend most of our day on the work floor, which is a big open space for putting things together. The heat out in Sitapura can be very tough during May and June, so we drink a lot of water and keep the doors open to get a breeze. There is a small corner used as an office with a couple of chairs and a desk that is always covered in order sheets and drawings. People come and go all day, mostly delivery drivers or folks from the nearby factories. The trip out to Paota is a long one for some of us, but it’s just the daily routine. We don't have any decorations on the walls, just the tools and materials we need to get the tasks done. Usually, by late afternoon, the sun hits the back of the building and makes it very bright inside. We stay until everything is finished, which often means working late under the tube lights. It is a practical place meant for making things and not much else. Plot No. 40 is easy to find if you know the Polo First area.
