Khandelwal Flor Meal & Kirana Store

We are over in Nandpuri Mkt at Shop No-13. It is on Hawa Sadak in Jaipur. The main thing people notice is the sound of the flour mill. It hums all day long and shakes the floor a little. There is always a fine layer of white flour dust on the counters, no matter how much we wipe it down. We sell grains and also grind them for people who bring their own sacks. Then we have the regular kirana items on the other side. It is a mix of smells, like fresh ground wheat and the spices we keep in jars. The market is always crowded with people looking for items. We have a couple of stools where people sit while they wait for their flour to be ready. We talk about the local news or the heat. Jaipur summers are no joke, and the mill makes the shop even hotter. We just keep the water pot full in the corner. Sometimes the machine breaks down and we have to spend hours fixing it with grease on our hands and flour on our clothes. It is just how it is. We have been doing this for years. The shop is old and the sign outside is a bit crooked. We don't worry about that too much. As long as the mill is running and the customers get their groceries, we are satisfied. There is a tea stall nearby that we visit often.
