Gurudev Provision

If you’ve ever walked down Jail Road, you’ve probably seen Gurudev Provision. We are right in the Shivalaya Complex, just across from the C. K. Tv House. It’s a typical local shop. We stock the usual stuff like grains, oil, and household things that people need every day. The shelves are usually pretty packed, sometimes it’s hard to find where we put the soap or the tea packets. We open early and stay open until fairly late. It’s a family-run kind of place. We know most of our regulars by their first names or at least by what they usually buy. It gets quite crowded in the evenings when everyone is getting home from work. We don't have a fancy checkout system, just us behind the counter keeping track of things. The delivery trucks come in the mornings and that’s when the shop is the messiest with sacks of flour and rice waiting to be moved. We’ve been at this location for a long time. The Jail Road area has changed, but we are still here doing the same thing. It’s not a supermarket with bright lights and music. It’s just a place to get your groceries and maybe have a quick chat while we bag your items. We don't do much advertising. People just know we are here. It’s a simple way to make a living and we appreciate the people who come back every week to stock their kitchens.
