Balaji Departmental Store

We are located in Jyoti Nagar, not too far from the Agrasen Circle. It’s a convenient spot for people living around here to stop by. Balaji Departmental Store is basically what it sounds like, a place where we keep a bit of everything on the shelves. It’s usually me and one other person working behind the wooden counter. The mornings are usually quiet, but it gets busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work. We try to keep the stock fresh and tidy, though sometimes the boxes arrive late and things get a bit cluttered for a day or two while we unpack. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we know most of the people who walk through the door. It feels more like a neighborhood gathering spot sometimes than just a store for shopping. We don't have a big corporate manual or rules. We just do things our own way. If someone needs something we don't have, we try to get it for them by next week. The lights inside are a bit bright, but it helps us to see the small labels on the jars. We don't have any big slogans or goals. We just open up, stay here all day, and close when it gets dark outside. It’s a lot of standing around on our feet, but we don’t mind the work. It keeps us connected to the town.
