Rahul Textiles Handicraft

Down here on 1st Street, right by Gangapole, things stay pretty busy. We are located just by the Jorawar Singh Gate on Amer Road, so there are always people walking past. Our place, Rahul Textiles Handicraft, is full of different fabrics and things we’ve made. It’s a bit cramped inside because we have so many rolls of cloth stacked up against the walls. You can usually find someone sitting near the door working on a piece of embroidery or checking the thread. The light isn’t always great, but we make do with what we have. Sometimes the monkeys from the gate area come hanging around, which can be a bit of a distraction. We deal with a lot of local folks who want something specific for their homes. It’s dusty work, especially with the wind blowing off the main road, but the colors of the textiles make it a nice place to sit. We don't have a big fancy showroom or anything. It’s just a workspace where we get things done. My father started this, and now we just carry it on day by day. We drink a lot of tea while we work and talk to the other shopkeepers nearby. It’s a good community here. Every morning we sweep the front and wait for the first customer to show up. It’s just how things go. It’s nothing special, just our daily routine.
