Working out of Purohitji Ki Haveli in Johri Bazar is something else. Eesha Export has been tucked away in this spot for a while now. If you’ve ever been to Katla Purohitji, you know how crowded it gets with people and carts squeezing through. Our space is filled with the smell of old stone and the sound of packing tape being pulled off the roll. We have these high ceilings that stay cool even when it’s boiling outside in the market. Most of our day is spent counting items and double-checking addresses on labels. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re deep in the stacks of inventory. Sometimes the neighbor's cat wanders in and sleeps on a pile of packing blankets. We don’t mind. The stairs up to the office are steep, so my knees usually ache by the time I head home in the evening. There’s always someone shouting down the hallway about a missing invoice or a late delivery truck. We drink way too much chai because the guy downstairs makes it perfectly. It's a bit chaotic, but that’s just how life is in the bazar. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just us, some desks, and a lot of work that needs to get done before the post office closes for the day.
