Jitendra Handicrafts

Jitendra Handicrafts is right in the middle of Johari Bazar at number 206. We are very close to Agrasen Market, so there are always people walking past the door. The bazar is a crazy place, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping. Our shop isn't very large, so we have to use every inch of the walls to hang things up. It’s a bit of a maze inside. I’ve worked here for a long time and I still sometimes forget where we put a specific item. The building is old, like most of the places in this part of town. The stairs are narrow and a bit steep if you are carrying boxes. We get a lot of regulars who come in just to say hello and see what's new. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything. We just open the shutters and start the day. Sometimes we sit on the stools outside for a bit of air when it’s not too crowded. The smell of the market is a mix of everything—spices, perfume, and old stones. It’s a loud place but we like it. We have some old fans that squeak a bit, but they keep the air moving. Dealing with the different people who walk through the door is the best part of the job. Every day is a little bit different here.
