We've been here in Vaishali Nagar Industrial Area for a good while now. The workshop gets pretty loud during the day with all the cutting and sanding going on, but that’s just how it is at Jindal Handicraft. Most mornings start with a quick check on the wood piles and making sure the tools are where they should be. It’s not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, even when we try to keep it clean. People come by asking for different bits and pieces, and we try to sort them out as best as we can. My hands are usually covered in some kind of stain or sawdust by noon. We don’t have a big office or anything, just a desk in the corner with a lot of papers. The industrial area is always busy, trucks coming in and out, which makes it easy for us to move our finished pieces. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy frames and packing things so they don’t break. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. Some days are slower than others, especially when the weather is too hot to stay near the machines for long. We just focus on the job at hand and keep moving. There’s always another order to finish or a design to figure out on the fly. It's a simple life here, just making things and making sure the shop stays open for the next day.
