Jawa Exports

Our place is tucked away at 1822 Chaura Rasta, specifically in Sonthliwalo Ka Rasta. If you know the old city of Jaipur, you know how narrow these lanes can be. It is a very busy area with a lot of history. We deal with exports, which means we spend a lot of time looking at local goods and seeing what might work for people in other countries. The building we are in is quite old and has a lot of character, but the stairs are a bit steep. We have samples of all sorts of things piled up on the shelves. There are fabrics, small handcrafted items, and bits of metalwork everywhere. It is a bit of a maze inside. My uncle was the one who started all this and he taught me everything about the trade. The street outside is always full of cycle rickshaws and people walking. Sometimes we have to carry heavy boxes out to the main road because the delivery vans cannot fit down our lane. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We do not have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have some fans and big wooden tables where we do all our packing and checking. We spend a lot of time making sure every item is right before it goes into a crate. We have been here for twenty years and the neighbors are all like family to us.
