Jai Handicraft

Jai Handicraft is located out on Amer Road in the Govind Nagar West area, near Shankar Nagar. It’s a bit away from the main hustle of the city, which is nice because it’s a little quieter for us to work. We have a small setup here where we spend most of our daylight hours. The shop is filled with materials and half-finished pieces that we’re working on. It’s a bit disorganized, to be honest. We have things stacked in corners and on old tables. My brother and I have been running this place together for quite some time now. We learned how to make these things from our father, and he learned from his. It’s just what we do. We don’t have a big corporate office or anyone answering phones for us. If the phone rings, one of us just wipes our hands and picks it up. Amer Road is a main path for people going to the forts, so we see a lot of traffic passing by, but our little corner of Shankar Nagar stays mostly calm. We don’t do any big promotions or sales. We just make what we can and hope people like it. Some days the weather is too hot to do much, so we just sit and talk over some cold water. It’s a slow way of doing things but it works for us. We’re just regular people trying to keep the craft going in our own small way.
