J. P. Steel Co.

J. P. Steel Co. is located at W-7 in the Lakkar Pather Bazari Mandi, which is part of Transport Nagar. Being in a mandi means it is always busy. There are trucks coming and going at all hours and a lot of dust in the air. We deal mostly in bulk steel. It is a very industrial environment. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning in the main area. It's a workplace built for moving heavy loads. We spend our days coordinating with drivers and checking the weight of the steel we are moving. Transport Nagar is a tough place to work sometimes because of the congestion, but it's where the heart of the trade is. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other shop owners around the mandi. We mostly deal with traders and industrial guys who need large quantities. It is not the kind of place where a casual shopper walks in. Everything is about the numbers and the quality of the batch we just received. We keep our own records in big books and try to stay on top of the orders. It's a lot of pressure when the market prices fluctuate, but we just keep our heads down and do the work. It's a gritty, honest business that doesn't need a lot of explaining to those who are already in the industry. We just keep the steel moving and wait for the next truck to arrive.
