E Tv Rajasthan Channel is over at 5/96A, Bhawani Singh Lane. We are in the C Scheme area on Bhawani Marg. It’s a central part of Jaipur. The office is always full of people. There are reporters coming in and out, and editors sitting in dark rooms looking at screens. We have been operating from this lane for a long time. It’s not as glamorous as people think. There are wires everywhere and the carpet is a bit worn out from all the foot traffic. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people about what is happening in the state. We have a small kitchen area where the tea pot is always on. Someone is usually complaining about the heat or the deadlines. It is a fast-paced environment but we are used to it. The building itself is an old house that was turned into an office. It has lots of small rooms and narrow hallways. We don't have a big corporate lobby. You just walk in and you're basically in the middle of everything. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to scramble to fix it before the next broadcast. It’s just a bunch of regular people trying to put out the news every day. We don't have a big mission, we just do the work and try to get the facts right before the day ends.
