We are based over at 5/96A Bhavani Singh Lane, right behind the Aloo Factory in C-Scheme. It is a bit of a funny landmark to tell people, but everyone in Jaipur seems to know where it is. Working here at Etv Rajasthan means things are always moving fast. We’ve got people coming in with news and tapes all the time. The office is busy, and the C-Scheme area is usually crowded with traffic and people going about their business. Most of us have been here a while and we know the routine. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything, just a solid place where the work gets done. On hot afternoons, the fan just pushes the warm air around, but we keep at it. Someone usually goes out to get tea for the floor every couple of hours. We deal with all sorts of stories from across the state. Being behind the Aloo Factory on Bhavani Singh Road makes it easy for guests to find us once they get the hang of the side streets. The walls are covered with posters and some old monitors that have seen better days. It is a real workplace, messy sometimes but it works for us. We just try to get the news out and keep the equipment running. It’s just how things are at our spot in Rajasthan. It’s a lot of long hours but we enjoy the buzz of the newsroom.
