Our shop, Indian Handicrafts, is located on Amer Road near Jorawar Singh Gate. It is a very busy area with lots of people and cars going by all day long. We have been in this exact spot for quite a while now. The shop is filled up with all sorts of things like wooden statues, brass items, and colorful fabrics. Most of these are made by local artisans from the nearby villages. I spend most of my day here just sitting behind the small wooden counter. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or big bright displays. We just have shelves stacked high with different items. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because of the main road right outside, but we clean it as much as we can. People stop in while they are visiting the gate or the fort. Some are just looking around, while others want to buy a small souvenir to take home with them. We don't do any big advertising or even have a website. People usually find us just by walking past or because someone else told them about us. It is a family business, and we like it that way. We know the other shop owners on Amer Road and often share tea with them in the afternoons when it's quiet. It’s a simple way to live and work. We just try to provide nice things that represent our culture. There is always something new to look at when a fresh shipment arrives from the craftsmen.
