Hs Hair Dresser

Bala Ji Ka Rasta is one of those winding lanes near Ghat Gate where you can easily get lost if you don't live here. Hs Hair Dresser is tucked away in that area. It is not a very big shop, just enough space for a couple of people to work and a few to sit. The address is 302003 and the neighborhood is mostly old houses and small workshops. I like it here because it feels like a real community. People shout to each other across the street while I am working. The shop has a small window that doesn't let in much light, so I have to keep the tube lights on even during the day. I have a small radio that plays local stations, though sometimes the signal is bad because of the thick walls. The chairs are old and the leather is a bit torn in places, but they are still sturdy. I spend my afternoons sharpening the razors or folding the white capes we use. It is a routine that hasn't changed in years. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for it to come back before we can use the clippers. In those moments, we just sit on the steps and talk about whatever is happening in Jaipur. It is a simple existence, just cutting hair and watching the days pass in the lane.
