Phulera can get pretty loud, especially being on Jaipur Road near the Gagan Cinema. My shop is right there where all the action is. Most days I am just sitting behind the counter looking at tiny screws and cracked screens. People come in before the movies start or right after they finish. They usually want a quick fix for a phone that won't charge or they need a new tempered glass because they dropped their device on the pavement. I have been doing this for a bit now. The shop isn't big, just enough space for the workbench and some glass cases with chargers and cables. It gets dusty with all the buses going past towards Jaipur, so I spend a lot of time wiping the glass. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit there talking until it comes back. It is a simple life here in Phulera. I don't have a big team, just myself and sometimes a cousin who helps when things get hectic. We see a lot of different people, from students to old men who can't figure out their new smartphones. It's a lot of repeating the same instructions over and over, but that is the job. The cinema sign glows at night and that’s usually when I start packing up to head home. It is a steady routine that keeps me going every day. I keep the tools ready and the door open for anyone passing by.
