Being located right in the Shilpgram Complex near Golimar Garden is a good spot for us. Amer Road is always full of people, especially tourists going up to the fort. We have been operating Handicrafts & Textiles Corporation from this location for a long time. The air around here usually smells like old wood and fabric. We have stacks of textiles piled up in the corners and artisans are often coming in and out throughout the afternoon. It is a bit of a maze inside sometimes because we have so much stuff coming in from different parts of Rajasthan. We do not really do any big advertisements. Most people just find us while they are walking around the garden or looking for local handicrafts. The building itself is old, but it has plenty of character. Some mornings are very quiet, just the sound of someone sweeping the front step. Then by noon, it gets a bit chaotic with deliveries arriving. We spend a lot of time checking the threads and the patterns on the hand-loomed pieces. My uncle used to run things here, and now we just try to keep it going the same way he did. It is not always easy keeping up with everything, but it is the life we know. We share tea with the neighbors and talk about the weather or the traffic on Amer Road. It is just a normal day for us, surrounded by cloth and wood.
