We’ve been tucked away in Swadeshi Market on Amer Road at number 29 for quite some time now. Most people around here know us just as the place with all the plastic tubs and crates piled up. It gets pretty dusty out here with all the cars going by, but we keep the shop open regardless. Usually, the day starts with us moving stacks of containers around to make space for people to walk through the aisle. It's not a very big space, so things tend to get crowded. We deal with all sorts of plastic items, from small household jars to bigger industrial pieces. Sometimes a customer comes in wanting a specific color we don’t have, so we have to check the back or wait for the next delivery. The market can be a bit noisy in the afternoons, especially when the schools let out nearby. We just keep doing what we do, day in and day out. It’s a family-run kind of setup, so there’s always someone you know behind the counter. We don’t really bother with big signs or flashy lights. If you need a bucket or a stool, you just come in and ask. Sometimes the tea guy stops by and we take a break for five minutes before the next person walks in. It’s a simple way to earn a living, honestly. Amer Road has always been home for this business, and Swadeshi Market feels right for us.
