Gobindram Ramchand Handicrafts Emporium has been a fixture at 23, Mirza Ismail Road for a long time. We are right near the Ajmeri Gate, which is a very busy part of the city. MI Road is always full of tourists and locals looking for something unique. Our emporium is an old-fashioned kind of place. We have high ceilings and shelves that are packed from floor to ceiling with all sorts of handicrafts. It’s easy to get lost in the aisles if you aren't careful. We don’t really use a lot of modern technology for the way we display things. It’s mostly just putting things where they fit and letting people browse at their own pace. There’s a lot of dust because of all the items we have, but we try to keep on top of it. The staff has been with us for years, and we all know the stories behind the different pieces we sell. It’s not a high-pressure sales environment. We just let people look around and answer questions if they have them. The noise from the traffic outside is constant, but inside it feels like a different world. We’ve seen the city change quite a bit from our front door near Ajmeri Gate. Even though things are moving faster outside, we like to keep things at a steady, traditional pace in here. It’s just how we’ve always done it, and it seems to work for us and our visitors.
