Giraj Hair Dressers

We are located at the Kot Khavda Mod, right on Tonk Road in the Chaksu area. If you know the district, you know this corner gets pretty busy with people coming and going. My family has lived around here for a long time, so opening Giraj Hair Dressers felt like the right thing to do. The shop isn't very large, but it’s enough for what we do. I usually have the radio playing some old songs while I work. It helps pass the time when it’s slow. Most of our customers are farmers or guys working in the local shops around Jaipur. They come in with long hair and leave looking a bit more decent. I don't use a lot of fancy products, just the basic stuff that works. The chairs are old and the leather is a bit worn in places, but nobody seems to mind much. We talk a lot about the crops and the rain. That’s usually the main topic around Chaksu. I keep the scissors sharp and the water warm for shaves. It’s a steady life. Sometimes my brother helps out when it gets crowded on the weekends. We don't have a big sign, just enough so people know we’re open. If you’re heading down Tonk Road, you’ll likely pass us. It’s a plain shop for plain people. We do our work and go home to our families at night. That is the way it works.
