Gems Art Factory

Our workshop is tucked away right near the Amer Palace. It is a very old area and it stays busy with all the people coming to see the palace. We have been here for a long time, working on different gems and stones. The space is a bit small and the tables are always covered in dust and small tools. We use the natural light from the windows as much as we can because it helps when you are looking at small details. It’s not a quiet place because you can hear the tourists and the traffic outside all day long. We don't really have a showroom like the big stores. It's more of a factory where things actually get made. We spend our hours cutting, polishing, and setting stones. Sometimes we have to stop when the power goes out, which happens more than we’d like. We just sit outside and wait for it to come back on. Most of our tools have been passed down or bought second-hand years ago. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People usually just wander in because they saw us working through the door. It is a bit messy and crowded, but we like it that way. It’s just how we work. We focus on the pieces we are making and don't worry too much about the rest. It’s a steady life here by the palace gates.
