Gayatri Mobile Centre

Chandpole Bazar is always a whirlwind of activity and noise. Our shop, Gayatri Mobile Centre, is tucked right into the 13th Main at number 24/1. It is a very lively and interesting spot to spend the whole day. We see all kinds of people coming through the bazar from morning until night. Some are just tourists looking around, but most are local people looking for a good deal or a quick fix for their mobile handset. The shop itself is not very wide at all, so we have to use every bit of vertical space for the accessories. We have got hooks and small shelves going all the way up to the ceiling. It can get very hot in the afternoons, especially when a crowd of people picks up inside. We have a small stool behind the counter, but we hardly ever get a chance to sit down. There is almost always a screen that needs replacing or some strange software issue to look at. We do not use any fancy or complicated language to explain things to our customers. If a phone is broken beyond repair, we just say it is broken. We try to be very honest about what things will cost. Sometimes people like to haggle over the price, but that is just how it works in the bazar. We are used to it by now. The tea here is excellent, we get a cup from the stall nearby every couple of hours.
