Five Thread Textiles Private Limited is located at 11-A, Mahaveer Nagar in Sanganer. If you know Sanganer, you know it is the heart of the textile world in this region. We are situated near Chitrakoot Colony, which is a busy neighborhood full of people involved in the fabric trade. You can see cloth drying on almost every rooftop in the area. Our building is a simple two-story structure where we keep our machines and our stock. The ground floor is usually where the heavy lifting happens, with people moving bundles of cloth around. Upstairs we have some space for the finer work and a small desk where we keep the ledger books. The street outside is often blocked by rickshaws or bikes, so we have to be careful when we are loading things up. We have five or six sewing machines that are almost always running. The sound of the needles is just part of the background noise here. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just some big pedestal fans that push the air around. It is a very traditional way of working and we are surrounded by other families and small businesses doing the exact same thing. We take our lunch breaks in the small back room and talk about the local news. It is just honest work with threads and fabrics every single day.
