Dholaghar Agro Producer Company Limited

Located in Sojat City, Pali district, we work out of the house of Hema Raj. It’s a very local operation. Most of us here have grown up around farms and know exactly how tough the ground is in Rajasthan. We formed this producer company to help each other out with the crops. It's not a big corporation with a lobby. It's just a room with some tables and chairs where we meet. Usually, there are a few of us sitting around drinking chai and discussing seed prices or the next transport. Sobdas is a small area, everyone knows where we are. We don't have a website that we update every day. Most things happen through word of mouth. We keep our records in big ledgers. It’s honest work. We have to be careful with the water and the timing of the planting. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to stay up all night to unload. It's just part of the job. We don’t have a uniform. We just wear what’s comfortable for working outside or in the shed. The goal is just to make sure the farmers in our group can get their produce to the market without too much trouble. It’s a lot of logistics and talking to people. We just take it one day at a time and do what needs to be done. The seasons dictate everything we do, so we just follow the rhythm of the rains and the sun.
