Agrokairu Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of House Number 78 in the village of Bijlanawas Majra Indiwali. It’s a quiet place, mostly made up of open fields and small houses. We started this business right from home because that’s where the work is. Most of us involved here have been farming our whole lives, just like our fathers did. We saw that things could be done a lot better if we worked as a group rather than on our own. It’s a lot of sitting around the porch or in the front room talking about seeds, the weather, and how to get our stuff to the market without losing too much money. We don’t have any fancy equipment or a big staff. It’s just us and our families putting in the effort. Sometimes the roads are bad, which makes transport a bit of a nightmare during the monsoon, but we manage somehow. People in Bijlanawas know where we are if they need us. We keep things honest and clear. There’s no point in using fancy language when you’re talking about dirt and crops all day. We’re just trying to make sure the farmers in our little village get a bit more for their hard work at the end of the day. It’s a slow process, building something like this from the ground up in a place like Indiwali, but we’re patient. It’s more of a lifestyle than just a business for us and our neighbors.
