Danish Handicraft

We are located on Data Ramgarh Road, specifically on M.D. Road. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but this is where we’ve always been. The workshop area is filled with bits of wood, fabric, and tools scattered around. It’s never really clean because something is always being made. You can hear the sound of sanding or hammering from the street. We have a small front area where we put out some finished pieces, but mostly it’s a working space. The walls are a bit stained from years of work and the roof is tin, so it gets really loud when it rains. We don’t have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Most of our time is spent with our hands dirty, trying to get things finished before the sun goes down. We have a couple of guys who have worked here for years and they know the routine. We sit on low stools for hours. The tea guy comes by twice a day and that’s when we take our breaks. Sometimes we run out of space and have to stack things out on the porch. It’s a bit messy and crowded, but it’s an honest way to spend the day. People find us by the smell of wood shavings and the noise of the work. It’s just a normal workshop where we try to stay busy and get things done right.
